A successful interactive video campaign can result in millions of views. I’m often surprised by the innovative ways in which people and brands use the YouTube interactive features to promote, educate and entertain viewers.

Here are five inspiring and different styles of YouTube interactive campaigns.

Using only video for interaction

Skittles Touch

This has virtually no use of the youtube features and can be implemented in any video platform but the request for interaction is simply so brilliant that I had to include it and with over 4 million views as of now, it has also gone viral.

Using YouTube annotations as links

A different ending

Using links to let the viewer choose how the story or action develops is a very engaging way to deliver a message. The London metropolitan Police used it successfully to draw attention to their drop the weapons campaign.

Other good campaigns using annotations as links;

Using the YouTube Timeline

BooneOakley

Using the timeline? Yes, this is one of the most clever interactive uses for a youtube video. the ad agency BooneOakley made their entire website using youtube videos!

Other good videos using the timeline;

Using YouTube Annotations as revealers.

Close the anotation

Here is another very clever and creative use of annotations, in this case the user has to close as many annotations as possible, it does not tally the user actions but that doesn’t matter if the end message is as gratifying as it is in this video.

Disguise a YouTube page using Flash

A hunter shoots a bear

with over 47 million page views this has been one of the most successful campaigns when it comes to YouTube Brand Channels.
Guess what most people type first, yes there is a video for that.

Other cool brand channels campaigns;

Check out all the stuff by Patrick Boivin he has made some really creative games using the youtube interactive features.
